Ski Days!

3rd & 4th grade ski trip!

Top Tigers! The Darby wrestling team showed out at the Choteau Classic this past weekend. The Choteau Classic had over twenty teams participating in the tournament. Darby came away with two champions! Logan Paddock won the #140 Girls Division and Shannon Stuart also took home the champion title in the #285 Boys Division. Also earning a spot on the podium was Freshman Eli Spross who took 3rd place in the #215 Boys Division and Halana May placed 6th in the #155 Girls Division. Great job by the entire Darby wrestling team for their continued hard work and dedication on the mat and in the classroom. You can come and cheer on the Tigers at their home meet on January 30th at 5pm.

These talented Darby HS art students, Shaina Gaustad, EmJ McDowell, Nayla Schmied, and Trisha Sturgis, were selected to be in the Corridor 93 Juried Art Show, hosted by the University of Montana, School of Visual and Media Arts (SVMA)! Montana high schools located along Highway 93, from the border of Idaho and up to the border of Canada, were asked to submit artwork for the art exhibition. The work was juried by UM's SVMA staff and narrowed down to 94 pieces of art. Most students who submitted two pieces of art only had one accepted, we had two students get both pieces accepted and our other two students only had time to submit one piece. We are honored to have such amazing artists at Darby High School!
Here are all the schools that made it into the Corridor 93 Juried Art Exhibition:
Polson High School, Flathead High School, Loyola Sacred Heart, Darby High School, Florence-Carlton High School, Big Sky High School, Whitefish High School, Lincoln County High School (Eureka), Charlo High School, and Willard Alternative High School
Families are invited to attend the Opening Reception on January 30th and more importantly, Saturday, February 22nd for a weekend daytime Closing Reception. Both receptions will be held from 5-7 pm at the Gallery of Arts on the University of Montana campus. I hope to see you there!

This month we celebrate the 50th birthday of our high school gym! Although, there have been some updates to the gym since 1975 the hardwood floor has remained the same. A big shout out to the Darby Facility crew that has done a wonderful job maintaining the floor over the past half-century. It was January 1975 when the gym and new school were opened up to the students to attend. This year we will be spotlighting the 50 years of blood, sweat and tears on gym floor while looking to the future on how we navigate the next 50 years to update and enhance the gym. #TheTigerWay
