Dear Darby School District Families,
I hope this letter finds you and your family well. I am writing to inform you of an exciting development in the Darby School District: we are now officially a Schoolwide Title I district. This designation will allow us to provide additional support to all students in our schools.
What Does Schoolwide Title I Mean?
Being a Schoolwide Title I district means that we will receive federal funding to help ensure that every child, regardless of income or academic achievement, is provided with the best possible educational experience. Unlike in the past, where Title I services were targeted only to select students, a Schoolwide Title I designation allows all students to benefit from the resources and programs these funds provide. The goal is to improve academic achievement for every child, particularly in reading and math.
Family-School Partnership: Title I Compact
We know that a strong partnership between families and schools is key to student success. As part of our Schoolwide Title I Program, we are also introducing a Title I Family-School Compact. This compact outlines how families, school staff, and students will work together to improve student achievement. Enclosed with this letter, you will find the compact, which we encourage you to review and discuss with your child.
Thank you for your continued support of Darby School District. We are confident that our Schoolwide Title I designation will help us continue to provide your child with the education they need to thrive. If you have any questions about this change or would like more information on how it may benefit your child, please feel free to contact your school principal or district superintendent.
Sincerely,
Tony Biesiot
Superintendent
