Skills USA text

The SkillsUSA annual Fall Leadership Conference was tons of fun, and I even got to experience it with my friends: Jackson Bennett, McCoy Townsend, Ella Bush, Austin Hackle, Charlie McCdowel, Student and carstudents and carJada Swanson, and Levi Whiting. We first started the conference with an Introduction of our Montana state officers. This included our very own Tanner Shavers, who is serving as state secretary. During this trip we learned a lot about the automotive industry at S.W.A.E. Industries Automotive Services. We also went to NOMAD GCS who manufacture communication, response and specialized vehicles provided to all corners of the world with their largest client being our United States government.  My favorite part of the conference was when Williams Academy brought in their state of the art heavy equipment  simulator training center. All in all it was a very fun experience with half of the conference being tours and even including bowling. As part of our leadership training we were taught how to run a project from start to finish by forming committees. This will help us run and lead projects throughout the school year at Darby. To anyone interested in learning more about the Darby SkillsUSA chapter contact Courtney Bennett at cbennett@darby.k12.mt.us . Thank you to all of the businesses who helped make the leadership conference a success.
