Dear Parents/Guardians,
Do you have books that your children have outgrown? To share the gift of reading, children’s books will be donated to the African Library Project to give children access to books in English-speaking African countries. Darby Schools is participating in this wonderful project and is asking for your help!
1. What you need to do!
Send gently used children’s books (Ages 3-10) with your child to school from October 7th to November 8th.
Gently used books are books that are in good condition for reading, but may have some minor wear and tear:
No water damage: The book is not damaged by water
No missing dust jackets: The book has its dust jacket unless it was never published with one.
No torn or grimy covers: The book's cover is not torn or dirty.
No smelly or hairy books: The book does not smell or feel hairy.
Binding may be slightly damaged: The book's binding may be slightly damaged, but it's still intact.
Check our website for Facebook page for updates on our progress!
Our goal is for our school to collect at least 500 books to send to schools in Africa. Thank you for helping us achieve our goal and doing something to help spread literacy throughout the world!
Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions. My email is rmccrossin@darby.k12.mt.us. I look forward to our progress toward the 500 books goal!
